KODAK EKTAPAN 400 is a continuous-tone panchromatic black-and-white negative film combining ISO 400 sensitivity with fine grain, high sharpness and strong resolving power. The higher speed supports faster shutter speeds and more flexibility in lower light while retaining a clean, detailed image. This version is supplied as a 35 mm roll with 36 exposures.
Speed and detail with T-Grain technology
EKTAPAN 400 uses a T-Grain emulsion with flat, tabular silver-halide crystals that improve light absorption while keeping grain appearance relatively low. This structure supports high resolution, clear edge definition and a clean look compared with traditional cubic-grain films, while the family’s wide latitude supports flexible exposure and processing.
The film uses standard black and white development, making it suitable for home or hand lab development. This film cannot be developed in Photopoint labs
